Okay, we will be having dinner at viva mexico, whose website is http://palatevine.com.sg.
To our muslim students, don't worry cos the food is from a certified halal supplier. However, the resturant is not certified as it serves alcohol (which we wont be touching) so yupyup, you guys are safe.
Also, the resturant serves vegetarian food, so for those who has to consume vegetarian you need not worry also! :D

Hello people, sorry for the extremely late update! I do have some really important news here.

1. ATTENDANCE!
After the final collection of the 45 dollars on 19th, we have recorded only a total of 43 people attending the prom.
After that we went to meet Mr Soh who said that 43 is something like a class outing. It would be unenjoyable to organise a prom in the hall which would have too much space to fill in.
He hence suggested a change of theme - eg BBQ or hi tea or something.

For the past few days, Huisze&Connie has been looking for location at sentosa so that we can have a little party there. However, after searching there isn't an ideal location within the budget that we have set.

2. HIGHLY IMPORTANT!
With this, i would like to announce that the prom is cancelled. We will be refunding the full amount to you. However, for those who wish to continue we are pleased to inform you that we have managed to source out two good resturants located in town for a nice gathering.

If you are joining the dinner, we would like to let yknow that we are currently in discussion with the resturants for a suitable meal/course dinner. After the dinner we can go and high :D The leftover money will be returned on that day! :D

The total cost of the prom is confirmed at $45! So for those people who have already paid $22, you will have to top up $23 more! Firstly- sorry for all the confusion of the venues.

We confirm now, that its school/

I'm very sorry that this decision is very, very, very, very ,very disappointing.

A few things to clarify

1) MONEY MATTERS

55bucks - for what we told the comb science people today is a rough budget. it'll be lower than that because we hear a lot of complains that since its in school, its too expensive. It'll not exceed 50. we apologise for the very scary information.

2) Venue- school

Firstly, we apologise we cannot have it in the hotel for basically two reasons

(i) lets not talk about affording it first.

We are second priority for the hotel, number one, and it'll be very difficult for us to get the place if we have very little people- which is so because a lot cannot afford.

Yes we know you'll say " then get a hotel or a date that we have first priority"

A lot of hotels are fully booked. and, we've tried a lot of hotels and we've only got one response.

Yes, you might say " why so loser?" We're very sorry.

We've tried Orchid Country Club as well- but we need 400 to have the ballroom. and we do not have 400 unless everyone makes it.

(ii) having it at the hotel will really stop a lot of people from attending. because of the price.

I shall not elaborate on this because its very straight forward

So, I know all of you are like - " SCHOOL, SIAN, DON'T WANT TO COME LIAOZSX"

But, we hope you can understand.

Of course, we apologise that we did not look for many many many many many many hotels.

The aim of the prom, is for everyone to get together and enjoy the last night together.

If we go for something that some people really really want, and we forget the rest of our friends who might not be able to make it, isn't it not very nice

we know - everyone wants to have a very very very very glam, prom.

school does not mean - lousy.

Please trust that we'll do our best to plan this prom, to make it memorable.

People, this entry aims to give a brief idea of the themes,
I've tried to come up with the best themes I could,
So read the details bfr deciding! :)

FIRST: No specific dress code for most the themes!

SECOND: There will be a theme song for each theme. Theme song has to be quite slow, cause cannot starting alrd 'high', y'all will be exhausted. P/S: Theme songs have yet to be finalised.

THIRD: Be ready to danceeeeeeeeeee!

1. BORN TO BE WILD

This is a wild theme, you can dress anyth you like, -in animal prints? anything.
However, it can also be referring to rocker style. So there's no limit to dresscode.
So don't feel pressurized. It's not a beauty contest.

2. ESCAPE

This theme is more like a funky and freedom kind of thing. It marks the end of our secondary school life, and prom is kinda like an escape avenue, or whatever you wna think of to link to the theme. You wna come in glittery dress, no problem! HAHAHA.

3. PAINT IT BLACK AND WHITE

Black and White always reminds you of the past, -walking down memory lane etc.
So for this, strictly black and white clothing. If you want to make it a masquerade, it'll be great. But, not all would want to take their time to make their masks. But, maybe y'all can buy!

4. RETRO ROMANCE (I kinda typed it wrongly at the poll)

Basically, it is one of the most specific theme. Retro. If you choose this, you'll have to go shopping and choose retro clothes and ready to be retro! Polka dots, hairbands, Afro hairstyle! HAHA, hmm, and more. That means, the 60' music will accompany us throughout the night.

5. TUESDAY NIGHT FEVER

This is a retro theme but not as specific as Retro Romance. For this, we can have most genre of songs. No specific dresscode. Tuesday, cause prom day falls on Tuesday.

This actually associates wildness, funkiness, and everything together. No specific dresscode too.
I like this, no tryna influence you, but, it's more general and kinda cover every aspect. hahaha! still, it's your decision! :-D

LATEST HOT UPDATE FOR PROM!

Okay, we have been getting alot of response regarding the prom that the cost is quite high and i think quite a few of you have expressed that school will be a better cheaper option.
So for now, we are stating our finalised details.

VENUE : School Hall
DATE : 1 December 2009.
TIME : to be confirmed.

As we are holding it in the school, the price would be cheaper - most probably around $55. The money would be used for decorations, caterers, deejay, Emcees and staff.
As usual, we will be having the first collection on the dates as stated in the post right before this.
The first collection would also be $22. However if you wish to pay the full sum you may as well.

Huisze&Connie will be meeting MrSoh to discuss the details for the prom like the time and everything. As we are holding it in the school we will have to get approval from MrTanYeeKan. Hence, dates is subjected to changes.

We are extremely sorry for the changes, but it another light, the school can be quite a cool place too! Plus, we can pay lesser now.
We will try to make it as nice as possible one lah.

Okay, as we all know we are going to try Intercontinental for our choice and will be collecting money this week. The total cost is $71 and it will be split into three collections. You may pay us part by part but if you want you can pay us all at one go as well. The first collection will be $22. So, for payment details, please refer below.

1. FOR SUB SCIENCE / 4NA / 4NT STUDENTS :
There will be two dates for collection of the first payment of $22. The first date will be wednesday, 11 november from 3.00pm to 3.45pm outside the HOD room. If you are unable to pay the $22, you may pay on the second date which will be on friday, 13th november from 9.30am to 10.00am at the pavilion outside the school.

2. FOR PURE SCIENCE STUDENTS :
There will only be one collection for you. That will be on Friday, 13 November from 9.00 am to 9.45am. Please meet Huisze outside the HOD room after your paper!

3. Please note that for further dates on collection of money, we will either spread the msg or update here so please check back regularly.

4. Please note that by saying yes to the prom means not sulking when you get there but having FUN! :D We will try our best to organise the best night.

FIRST CHOICE FOR PROM

We've looked at Intercontinental hotel, and the possible date for the prom if it would be there would be December 1st!

Interconti- 70.62 bucks per person --- yeap this sounds a little bad? but

The place is good :D Connie and Huisze have went to see the place, and extra info from connie was that, Lee Min Ho stayed at intercontinental when he came to Singapore so, :D YEAH!

HAHAH!

Extra information, if most people are agreeable to have it there, we have to confirm very soon because we're second in the waiting list for the December 1st!

If we're able to pay the 30% deposit first, we might get the place :D

and, its really a great place

the ballroom is humungous, the lights are pretty

the atmosphere is wonderful,

and outside the ballroom, before the prom starts, there'll be a cocktail reception!

and you can take tonsssss of photos and warm up before the actual thing starts :D

SECOND CHOICE-

SCHOOOL!

School would be kind of weirrdddddd, but it would be cheaper and we can actually get caterers and people to do up the place and the atmosphere could be as good!

So, I need everyone to confirm with your monitors your attendance first!

then, further information will be given out

we need to act fast, to make prom great :D

Also, we're hoping the 4N ,4E and 5N will all make it :D so nobodys left out :D
